You will be supporting members across product, engineering, marketing, and community teams throughout your internship giving you the opportunity to explore what you're passionate about. As a minimum 3-month internship, you will have ample room to grow and take on projects. The tight-knit team at 2manybooks allows you to collaborate with people of all levels. What you'll do

  • Support team members per assigned departments
  • Assist with weekly priorities and projects
  • Provide research and analysis regarding key initiatives
  • Contribute to projects and follow through on expected deliverables
  • Help with user research and community engagement
  • Assist with content creation and social media

We're ideally seeking

  • College student (school credit)
  • Able to commit to a minimum 3-month internship

This internship requires you to be located remotely or in LA to work with our team, 2-3 days per week, 16-24 hours per week commitment. Please note this is an internship for current college students with a minimum of 16 hours per week, or more where applicable, to comply with your school's credit requirements.

This role focuses on high-quality cover labeling for our catalog so collectors always see the right edition, crop, and presentation. The ideal teammate is detail-oriented, consistent, and comfortable making careful visual judgments at volume. You will work alongside catalog and product partners to improve cover quality signals used across discovery, library shelves, and immersive views. We encourage high-level learning, not only from top-down but from down-up; we want you to share and teach us as much as we teach you! What you'll do

  • Review and label book cover images for quality, crop, and edition fit
  • Flag missing, low-resolution, watermarked, or mismatched covers
  • Apply consistent labeling guidelines across large cover batches
  • Escalate ambiguous cases and help refine labeling rules
  • Contribute to projects and follow through on expected deliverables
  • Share feedback that improves our cover sourcing and presentation systems

We're ideally seeking

  • Strong visual attention to detail and pattern recognition
  • Comfortable with repetitive, guideline-driven labeling work
  • Reliable internet connection and ability to work asynchronously
  • Interested in books, reading culture, and digital catalogs
  • Able to follow written instructions and meet weekly volume targets
  • Strong written communication skills for edge-case notes

This is a remote data labeling role. Hours are flexible within agreed weekly targets. Prior labeling experience is helpful but not required — care, consistency, and judgment matter most.

  • Resolve conflicts across editions, ISBNs, authors, and publishers
  • Apply consistent taxonomy and subject labeling guidelines
  • Document ambiguous records and propose guideline improvements

  • Help with research that improves catalog completeness and accuracy
